We teamed up with On to put their CloudSurfer Trail to the test on some Cotswold trails and back lanes with a healthy dose of mud thrown in for good measure.
The day started like any situation where you get a group of strangers a room together - we spoke about the weather. Chat quickly moved on to most runners' favourite topic of running shoes and before we knew it everyone was kitted out in their CloudSurfers and we were ready to head out.
We started from our store in the heart of Broadway's bustling High Street, weaving along the pavements we soon detoured off onto the trail. A short gravel section followed by a quick blast through the tunnel and we were out on the open hillside.
The grassy path gave way to a not very pushchair-friendly bog, but with some team work we were soon on our way again. Our shoes were now significantly less red than when we started as we crossed a small stream and climbed victoriously up the final ascent on the route.
The downhill section was welcomed with open arms as we picked our way down the grassy slope, slowed briefly by the deepest mud of the day just before final gate. Released by the mud we hit the tarmac, kept comfortable by the smooth CloudTec cushioning under our feet.
Leaves littered the pavement as we made our way back down the High Street, gathering outside the shop for the obligatory group photo. Pastries lured us inside as we chatted about our experiences in the shoes and how they fared in a real mix of conditions.
