Behind the Fabric: Greater Goods x Rab

Behind the Fabric: Greater Goods x Rab

There’s something pretty special about seeing old kit get a second life. Last week, our Ambleside store played host to a unique collaboration between Greater Goods and Rab, where adventure-worn jackets were transformed into something completely new.

The idea was simple but brilliant: take Rab jackets that had already seen plenty of miles on the fells and turn them into bespoke cross-body bags. Guided by the talented team at Greater Goods, attendees got the chance to deconstruct the fabric, learn new skills, and stitch together pieces that were entirely their own.

What made it extra special was the individuality of each creation. Some jackets had stories stitched into every seam - shielding their owners from countless showers, snow flurries, or windswept summits. Others had the patina of winters gone by. No two bags were alike, but each one carried a history you couldn’t buy off the shelf.

Over the course of three sold-out workshops, our Epicentre store buzzed with a mix of craft, conversation and community spirit. For many, it was less about leaving with a bag and more about the process itself - the act of giving new life to fabric that still had plenty left to give.

Adding to the excitement, Proper Mag were there to document the day, capturing the atmosphere and the creativity that unfolded across every workshop. Keep an eye out for their multi-page feature in the next issue - it promises to be a brilliant snapshot of what made the event so memorable.

We owe a big thank you to Rab, Greater Goods, Proper Mag, and of course to everyone who joined us in store. It goes to show that every well-worn jacket has more to give, it just needs a fresh purpose!
